Are you brave enough to search for the exquisite alpine plant? The Grossarltal offers numerous opportunities to do so along idyllic, well-maintained hiking trails. And if you need a little refreshment in between, then stop off at one of the 40 traditional alpine huts. There is a good reason why the Grossarltal is known as ‘the Valley of Mountain huts'.

Sensory path in the Grossarl Valley

The sensory path near the Gehwolfalm is built on the basis of the five elements wood, fire, earth, metal and water. Each station represents an element and is made playful experience for our guests. It is complemented by our great nature adventure playground for young and old. Visitors of all ages should be able to linger in the moment and consciously experience and feel the sensory path.

The trail can be reached from the valley by cable car. Then follows a short hike (about ½ hour) to the Gehwolfalm. The path is only 5 minutes away from the Gehwolfalm, is embedded in breath-taking landscape and leads past 700 year old trees.

The Grossarltal has lots of well-developed hiking trails and offers families numerous opportunities to take a look through the environmental footprint. Take the leaf out of your little naturalists book and open your eyes to the natural wonders of the world.

Feel motivated as you pack your backpack, apply plenty of sunscreen and head off with your hiking poles. The goal is so close to the sky – the Schuhflicker summit. Accompanied by the experienced Lorenz Hettegger, the summit tour becomes a true experience.

Sweaty and exhausted, head back to the Spa Hotel Edelweiss – Austria and take a shower. Being pampered after such a day in the fresh mountain air is a great feeling. Relax tense muscles with a vigorous massage.
