More fun with adrenaline
The Grossarltal offers around 140 kilometres of signposted and marked bike trails with an altitude difference of 300 to 1,000 metres per tour. It’s enough to get your pulse racing. For pleasure cyclists and families, the valley cycle path directly on the Grossarler Ache or a tour to the traditional alpine pastures makes an ideal bike excursion.
The ‘single trail Großarltal’ opened in the summer of 2017 – the valley’s first downhill trail. The strenuous ascent can be easily avoided by taking the 8-person Hochbrand cable car. From the top station, the 3.3-kilometre stretch leads to the bottom station. It impresses both touring bikers and enduro riders. The cable car runs from Friday to Monday from 9:00 a.m. to midday and from 1:30 pm until 4:30 pm from July. It does not run when it rains.
From Monday to Saturday, we offer a guided mountain bike tour and an e-bike tour in the immediate vicinity or in the neighbouring region. Three of these tours are accompanied by the Edelweiss guides Hans, Karin or Daniel Hettegger. Participation is free of charge for guests of the Hotel Edelweiss – Salzburg Mountain Resort. The meeting point is directly in front of the hotel.
